As with the Oculus Rift, the HTC Vive’s initial shipping hasn’t gone as smoothly as hoped. Reports of pre-order cancellations plagued the virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) in the run up to release, and there have since been issues with shipping to certain territories and a clear lack of satisfaction from VR fans on the customer service front. Many are frustrated by the company’s silence on the issue, but now HTC has finally spoken out, providing some reassuring news in the process.

Speaking to WIRED, an HTC spokesperson has promised that all HTC Vive shipments originally planned for this month will be made before its end, though the company stated it couldn’t provide any specific shipping dates at this point in time. “We are shipping Vives from different regional depots, not from one single global location,” the spokesperson explained. “This means that customers will be sent units based on when they ordered them in their respective markets, not based on their global timestamp.”

On the communication front, HTC stated that it ‘should have been clearer’ to its customers. Hopefully this marks the end of a frustrating week for some customers, then. The Oculus Rift, meanwhile, has been delayed by up to two months for some customers.
