Launching on the Kickstarter crowd-funding website today is a surreal first-person shooter (FPS) videogame from Polish developer Telepaths Tree. Inner Chains is a horror title that was first announced last year, now the studio is seeking extra funding to tweak certain animation and FX elements to polish off the experience.

Telepaths Tree is looking to raise relatively small sum of $10,000 USD to complete the project. It has also launched a Steam Greenlight campaign as well, helping to garner extra support.

Inner Chains’ funding page features a range of backer reward tiers, from $2 USD which will get your name in the special thanks section of the credits, up to $5000 USD where you’ll meet the team, visit the studio and get motion captured to become an Inner Chains character. $15 USD is the starting point to get a digital copy of the videogame through steam.

“Our plans regarding Inner Chains’ scale were less ambitious when we first started working on the project than they are now. But then the game announcement went live and the amount of positive feedback we got motivated us massively and gave us an additional boost. It was then that we decided to focus entirely on this project, put everything else aside, and create an absolutely unique game that would stand out from other similar titles. Our main goal will allow us to polish some new, additional in-game elements that will make Inner Chains a truly outstanding experience. Of course we also have some aces up our sleeves and some of them were listed as our stretch goals,” said Tomasz Strzałkowski, CEO of Telepaths’ Tree in a statement.

Telepaths Tree has confirmed virtual reality (VR) support for Inner Chains, but haven’t yet confirmed if the title will support the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive or both.

The world of Inner Chains is a dark biomechanical place, where millennia of evolution has warped organic organisms and mechanical creations together. Players must uncover the secrets of the planet and defeat its dangerous inhabitants to escape.

VRFocus will follow the progress of Inner Chains’ Kickstarter campaign, reporting back with any new updates.
