There have been several themes popular with virtual reality (VR) developers as they look to immerse viewers and gamers in extraordinary worlds. Whether going from a learning, educational standpoint or more action orientated, dinosaurs have been used countless times for VR content. Now available this week is Jungle Dino VR, a title for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) that allows players to explore a dinosaur filled island.

Jungle Dino VR is purely an exploratory videogame where players wander around the island to look for the various creatures that inhabit it. From carnivore to herbivore species there are : Pterosaurs, Mosasaurs, Brachiosaurus, Tyrannosaurs, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurs, Dilophosaurus, Ornithomimus, Parasaurolophus, Velociraptor, Triceratops, and Elasmosaurus. Alongside the dinosaurs a range of insects and animals will also be present, including: giant spiders, dragonflies and snakes.

The videogame isn’t new to the Oculus Rift. It originally launched for the Oculus Rift DK2 via Oculus Share back in December 2015. Since that service is no longer available as it once was developers have been gradually bring their projects over to Oculus Home.

Jungle Dino VR is listed as a moderate experience due to the walking and sometimes running players might do when some of the bigger, more imposing dinos come their way. Jungle Dino VR is available now for £7.99 GBP, and for all the latest releases on Oculus Home, keep reading VRFocus.
