When it comes to motorsport you don’t get more fast and hectic action than that provided by rallying; and one name synonymous with the sport is Subaru. Now in a new app Subaru is letting you ride along through the forests of Michigan with championship winning duo  David Higgins and Craig Drew in their 2015 Subaru WRX STI on YouTube and with Google Cardboard.

As part of the video the team uses what it calls ‘Peer-Thru Technology’ to allow you to look down through the roof as the video progresses to see the actions of both the driver and the navigator below. The experience is available as part of the Subaru Motorsports app available for both iOS (in iTunes) and for Android (via the Google Play store) whilst you can see the YouTube 360 degree experience here:

Higgins and Drew were the first team to successfully win every race during a Rally America National Championship season, and riding along with them you certainly see why they were so dominant. The footage itself was filmed during the Lake Superior Performance Rally, the final round of this year’s championship.

Keep following VRFocus for more 360 degree experience you can enjoy on your virtual reality (VR) head-mounted displays (HMDs).
