Earlier this year indie studio Other Ocean Interactive revealed its brand new virtual reality (VR) title, Giant Cop, for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD). Little was known about the title at the time, although the developer did show off a GIF that revealed the core mechanic in which, as the name suggests, players patrol a city as a giant police officer, picking up criminals and tossing them into prison. This week, Other Ocean Interactive has launched two new videos for Giant Cop, one of which being a trailer and the other consisting of gameplay footage. Both videos can now be seen below.

The trailer lasts just over a minute and introduces players to the concept of Giant Cop and its setting, Micro City. It’s not long before a bank heist takes place, with police cars rushing onto the scene. The gameplay, meanwhile, features over three minutes of footage from the title, including a look at the setup screen in which the player puts on a watch from which the police commissioner will start to communicate with them. Once in the world, the player is taken through a brief tutorial in which they pick up drunken citizens and toss them in jail while also causing some havoc of their own.

Both videos were posted on the updated website for the title. Giant Cop is expected to arrive in 2016, though no further release date has yet been revealed. Those that are eager to sample the experience should also note that Other Ocean Interactive will be taking it to EGX Rezzed in London, UK next month.
