When Crytek’s first virtual reality (VR) videogame title The Climb was released earlier this year on Oculus Rift, we at VRFocus gave it a favourable review but felt that, considering it was a VR experience in which the central mechanic to master was hand movement, the need to use an Xbox One gamepad was less than appealing and made the experience much less immersive. It was, fortunately, announced by Crytek that when the highly anticipated Oculus Touch controllers for the Oculus Rift headset were released, the developer would update The Climb in order to support them.

Now that the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles has rolled around once more, Oculus has brought its Oculus Touch controllers along to the show for people to try out and one of the titles they’re using to showcase the much improved and more natural hand movements these controllers are able to offer is, you guessed it, The Climb.

Crytek has released new screenshots for the Oculus Touch update of the videogame which we have for you below. The Climb is a truly beautiful game in virtual reality or otherwise, with stunning vistas to gaze out over as you hand from the side of a rock face, and these screenshots absolutely show just how good the visuals of this title can be. We imagine it can only be an even better experience when the actual action of climbing feels more natural and immersive thanks to the Oculus Touch controls.
