The anticipation for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) is heating up, as pre-orders are due to launch in February and the full consumer launch is scheduled for April. Developer Futuretown is capitalising on this by releasing a new trailer for its virtual reality (VR) title, Cloudlands: VR Minigolf.

One of the studios first projects to be built for the HTC Vive’s Room-scale motion-tracking system ‘Lighthouse’, Cloudlands: VR Minigolf pits players on an 18-hole golf course will gradually test their skills as they strive for the top of the leaderboards.

As shown in the video players start by choosing to play a random 9-holes or play through the entire 18-hole course, as well as seeing the current course records. While playing through Cloudlands each hole will offer a varied challenge with players making use of ball cannons, floating bridges, and an other objects to get their best score.

Futuretown is planning to release Cloudlands: VR Minigolf for the launch of the HTC Vive. The studio is also working on two other VR titles, Jeeboman – a retro inspired arcade shooter and A-10 VR – a space-based shooting range designed as an entry point for first time VR users.

VRFocus will continue to bring you all the latest updates from Futuretown on its current and future projects.
