While the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain is seen as a platform for the worlds smartphone manufacturers to show off their latest devices, the event does feature more and more virtual reality (VR) offerings. Chinese technology company Focalmax is displaying its full product line-up of smart optical solutions for the global audience, under the theme of “Focal View, Max World.”

Focalmax’s solutions cover Heads-up Display (HUD), glasses-free 3D smartphones, VR glasses, sports cameras and projectors. These products include: Carsail – an augmented reality (AR) HUD display equipped with an aspherical display engine at 6.5 inches maximum size. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, allowing real-time communication in a seamless manner.

Then there’s the Maxphone, a switchable, glasses-free 3D flagship smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. It’ll boast a 2K 5.5-inch screen to offer ultra 3D display effects. Focalmax will also be showcasing its Scati VR glasses, eyewear that allows 3D recording and display. Scati has a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon processor enabling wireless communications and two 8 mega pixel cameras for 3D recording.

“IoE is clearly an essential goal for smart and connected product developers around the world,” says Nelly Ma, General Manager at Focalmax in a statement. “Our technology differentiation is our industry-leading, super large aspherical display engine applied in HUD products, and smart actions powered by Qualcomm processors in most of our product line. We are excited to deliver them as critical building blocks to promote an eco-system of optical communication.”

VRFocus will continue its coverage of the MWC, reporting back on its latest VR offerings.
