The annual FMX conference on animation, effects, games and transmedia which takes place in the Haus der Wirtschaft, Stuttgart, Germany will be holding its next event this April 2016. Running for over 20 years, FMX 2016 will be themed on ‘Blending Realities’, where visitors will discuss and try out the realities of others across art, technology and business.

With virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) being a buzz word over the last few years, the conference will explore both of these technologies potential through numerous presentations and workshops. Topics FMX 2016 will focus on include: Realtime Storytelling, Disruptive Technologies, Sound Design, Hack Art, Directing for VR, Business Leaders, Investors meet Technology Start-ups, Stop-Motion, Layout and Set, Tools of Tomorrow as well as Cameras & Pipelines.

Several speakers have been announced for the conference including Creative Director Stuart Aiken from Axis Animation, he’ll be providing insights into the introduction sequence of Halo 5, but no VR specific speakers have been revealed as of yet.

Hosted by Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg which is celebrating its 25th birthday this year, FMX 2016 will be taking place from 26th – 29th April 2016. Tickets are available now from www.fmx.de.
