Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE’s) press conference was the last to be held prior to the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 opening. Featuring some heavy hitting releases for the PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD), SIE has revealed the most virtual reality (VR) related content so far. Newly announced for the HMD is Bound from indie developer Plastic with a new trailer detailing gameplay.

Bound features a highly stylised, cell-shaded designed in which players will dance across the landscape, spinning ribbons as they go. As the developer notes on the PlayStation.Blog: “The beautiful, fantastical world of Bound unfolds in a whole new way with a custom camera view designed for use with the PlayStation VR headset. A unique 3rd person camera makes it easy to experience full 360-degree immersion in the game’s unique visual landscape that was inspired by modern art. With a powerful story and innovative gameplay mechanics, players will use dance moves to traverse vast environments filled with platforming challenges in an introspective story that is revealed through powerful metaphor and imagery.”

While Bound was originally created for PlayStation 4 the included PlayStation VR mode will give a new immersive way to experience the title. Bound will release on PlayStation Store on 16th, August 2016 and when the HMD arrives on 13th October, players will be able to try the VR functionality, making it another confirmed launch title for the headset.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of PlayStation VR, reporting back with any new updates.
