Microsoft has launched pre-orders for the Development Edition of its anticipated mixed reality (MR) head-mounted display (HMD), HoloLens, today. As leaks prior to the reveal suggested, the company has also announced a brand new videogame for the platform in Young Conker. As you might have suspected, this is indeed a new entry in Rare’s action-platform series that began all the way back in 2001 with the release of Conker’s Bad Fur Day on the N64. Now a new trailer for the title has been revealed, which can be seen below.

As you can see in the footage, released by Microsoft itself, Young Conker is a very different kind of experience to the original title. Instead of running around a virtual world, the younger version of the popular squirrel finds himself within the actual room the user is playing the title in. From here, Conker will run across real world surfaces, battling enemies that appear on the floors and walls. The tech even allows for Conker to stumble when standing near the side of a real table or sofa. The title is developed by Asobo Studio.

Young Conker will be available when the Development Edition of the HoloLens starts to ship to the US and Canada on 30th March 2016. The kit costs some $3,000 USD and doesn’t yet have a consumer release date.
