Last month VRFocus reported that virtual reality (VR) marketing agency, Virtual Umbrella, was planning to host the first ever Southampton VR Meetup, adding to the ever-growing list of UK cities that have burgeoning VR communities. At the time a specific date for the event hadn’t been set. Today, however, Virtual Umbrella is finally ready confirm when the inaugural Southamption VR Meetup will be taking place.
The event will be held on 28th January 2016 on the top floor of The Stable at 6 Above Bar Street, 2O14 7DU, Southampton. Speakers and demos for the show are yet to be set, though Virtual Umbrella is calling for developers and VR figureheads to get in touch to offer both. Expect an evening in which developers, enthusiasts and more gather to talk about the latest VR advances, then.
This is far from all that the company has planned for 2016. Virtual Umbrella is also teaming up with Ravensbourne for VRUK, a new London-based show focused on VR films that will run from 10th – 11th February 2016. Tickets for that show are now available.
