One of the more unique virtual reality (VR) videogames to be announced for the PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD) at the PlayStation Experience last week was Golem, the debut title from indie developer Highwire Games. Stacked up next to the likes of The Modern Zombie Taxi Co., 100FT Robot Golf and Ace Combat 7, this intriguing title stood out thanks to its mythical presentation and promising setup. Now the first images of Golem have been revealed, and can be seen below.

A handful of images are on display, mainly looking at scenes and characters that were first showcased in last week’s trailer. Golem will cast players as a young girl that can create and control giant stone monsters similar to the one that can be seen below. Using these avatars players will explore an ancient city, though much of the title’s plot and mechanics remain shrouded in mystery at this point in time.

It’s not yet clear when Golem will be releasing, though it obviously won’t be until PlayStation VR itself has launched as some point in Q1 2016. VRFocus will be providing all of the latest updates on the title on the way to release, so stay tuned.
