PlayStation VR and Ace Combat fans alike were treated to a big surprise at the 2015 PlayStation Experience fan event today. During its segment on the upcoming virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) revealed the latest entry in the arcade flight action series, Ace Combat 7, from Bandai Namco. As it turns out, the newest addition to the franchise will be exclusive to PlayStation VR. Now the first trailer for the experience has arrived, and can be seen below.
The mysterious trailer begins with someone standing some way up an impossibly tall structure. It’s not long before two sides of combat aircraft arrive and start to engage in battle. One larger craft deploys hundreds of smaller units as the person begins to fall and the trailer comes to a close. It’s a brief look, but Bandai Namco has confirmed the footage was captured in-game, and it serves as a perfect teaser for what playing the title in VR will be like.
