Since Samsung launched the Gear VR, the mobile virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display for the technology company’s top of the range smartphones last month, the device has seen a decent number of new titles launched. Today is no exception, with Coatsink Software releasing Esper 2, and Element Games launching its first VR title for the platform, Evil Robot Traffic Jam.

Based on tower defence videogame mechanics, Evil Robot Traffic Jam features dastardly robots that have begun creating traffic jams across the world and it’s down to you strategically place a variety of weapons to stop them. For the launch the title will feature seven playable maps with various enemies to dispose of. Weapons include explosive missile towers, hazardous frost towers, rail guns, mortars, anti-air and more are just a few of the items at your disposal.

Designed from the ground up to be comfortable in VR Evil Robot Traffic Jam features a player progression system whereby medals can be attained, giving the player attributes such as extra starting cash, helping towards harder levels. These attributes can also be used on previously cleared maps. Each map also includes an endless version, allowing players to try to beat their high scores.

Evil Robot Traffic Jam doesn’t require a gamepad to play, and is available to download now from the Oculus Store for $9.99 USD.

VRFocus will continue to follow any further announcements from Element Games on future VR projects as details are revealed.
