Following the official launch of EVE: Valkyrie on Oculus Rift last month, CCP Games has today revealed a new gameplay mode coming to the videogame, called Carrier Assault. The announcement took place during a keynote speech at EVE Fanfest 2016, Reykavjik.

Carrier Assault is a new gameplay mode an evolution of ‘Control Mode’ that will be added to the existing EVE: Valkyrie framework later this year. A promotional screenshot for the mode was released and you can see it below.

No specific release date for Carrier Assault has yet been revealed, though it was indicated the date would be early Summer dependent upon the feedback the team receives from the community following EVE Fanfest . VRFocus has been hands-on with the new gameplay mode, as well as a brand new map for EVE: Valkyrie, and will bring you more details very soon. Also be sure to join us later for an EVE Fanfest  liveblog as CCP discuss ‘Valkyrie Assaulting the Senses’.
