Epic Games has big plans for next week’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) and Virtual Reality Developers Conference (VRDC). The company has already confirmed that it will be revealing the release date for its in-VR editor for its Unreal Engine 4 at the show from 14th – 18th March 2016. The system will allow players to create VR content from within a head-mounted display (HMD). Today, however, the developer has announced that it will also have its own VR content to showcase too. In fact, one of these experiences will be a brand new, never-before-seen piece.

The company has confirmed that it will be hosting VR demos from 16th – 18th March at its Unreal Engine booth in San Francisco’s Moscone Center in which GDC takes place. Along with this new experience – details for which are scarce – Epic Games will also be bringing its popular Oculus Touch tech demo, Bullet Train, to the event for people to try out. Bullet Train was introduced at the 2015 Oculus Connect 2 developer conference last September and uses the Oculus Touch controllers to allow players to realistically wield guns and grenades, taking out squads of faceless soldiers.

As VRFocus has already reported, the developer will also have a session on the making of Bullet Train at the event.

This latest experience will be the first new VR content from Epic Games since the reveal of Bullet Train, then. That said, there’s no indication of if this could be a full VR videogame from the company – something that’s widely requested – or if it’s simply another tech demo. It’s also not clear which HMD it will be running on, although Epic Games has traditionally partnered with Oculus VR to showcase its tech running on the Oculus Rift in the past.

VRFocus will be at GDC to bring you the latest on Epic Games’ work in VR and much more.
