One of the surprise announcements from Sony Computer Entertainments (SCEs) PlayStation Experience over the weekend, was the news that Ubisoft is developing its first fully fledged virtual reality (VR) title, Eagle Flight.  After the keynote speech Ubisoft released the first trailer for the title and now new details have surfaced.

The official Eagle Flight website explains the back story for the title: “50 years after humans vanished from the face of the Earth, nature reclaimed the city of Paris, leaving a breathtaking playground. As an eagle, you soar past iconic landmarks, dive through narrow streets, and engage in heart-pounding aerial dog fights to protect your territory from opponents.”

The videogame will feature single player missions comprising ring parkour and shooting challenges. While the multiplayer will allow up to six people to fight it out in the desolate streets, exploring Paris to find collectibles and hidden passageways to gain the advantage in two modes. As a bird of prey players will need to reach the highest point of view to locate enemies before diving towards them to take them down.

While Eagle Flight was shown for the PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD) it will also support the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets for PC, and will launch in 2016.

VRFocus will continue to follow the latest announcements from Ubisoft on Eagle Flight as they’re announced.
