Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has finally revealed what a lot of people had been waiting for, a price and release date for the PlayStation VR head-mounted display for PlayStation 4. The device has come in cheaper than expected at £349, but arriving slightly later in the year, arriving in October 2016. Now the company has started to unveil what consumers will get in the box, with a demo disc on of the items.

Revealed on the PlayStation.Blog after the announcement at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2016 in San Francisco, SCE said on the website: “All those who purchase a PlayStation VR system will receive a PlayStation VR Demo Disc that will feature a number of playable experiences from some of the best games from the launch line-up.”

Details of the videogames included haven’t been listed, but as no titles have yet been officially confirmed as launch videogames then that’s not surprising. It’s likely they’ll be some of the hotly anticipated ones which show off the system at its best. Possibilities could include EVE: Valkyrie (CCP Games), Headmaster (Frame Interactive), Rez Infinite (Enhance Games), Wayward Sky (Uber Entertainment), RIGS: Mechanized Combat League or London Heist.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of PlayStation VR, reporting back any new updates.
