Sony announced it has some big plans for its virtual reality (VR) headset Playstation VR (PSVR) at its conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) on June 13, the most immediate of which is to feature 40 Playstation VR demo stations at its booth on the show floor, one of which is to be Crytek’s Robinson: The Journey. For fans who won’t get the chance to get hands on the videogame at E3, however, Crytek has also released a new trailer for the title.

Robinson: The Journey was first revealed by Crytek in 2015 and it was later announced that the title would be a Playstation VR exclusive. The videogame is a first person sci-fi adventure in which players assume the role of Robin, the lone survivor on the spaceship Esmeralda, which has crash landed on a mysterious planet populated by dinosaurs.

The trailer shows some of Robin’s background story, depicting the spaceship crash before the player wakes up on the alien planet with a helpful but overbearing robot for company. The trailer ends with Robin opening the door to the Esmerelda revealing the lush and dangerous landscape players will be able to explore when they get their hands on the videogame.

As yet Robinson: The Journey has not been given a firm release date but since Sony has announced that the Playstation VR will have a library of 50 playable titles before the year is out, there is an extremely good chance that this will be one of them.

Robinson: The Journey will be playable on the E3 show floor alongside other exciting titles such as Final Fantasy XV, Farpoint, and Resident Evil VII. As E3 gets underway VRFocus will bring you hands on details of these titles and many more.
