The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 has barely even started and already we’ve seen countless exciting trailers for new virtual reality (VR) videogames. Sony’s press conference on June 13 in particular gave us a glimpse of a whole host of PlayStation VR compatible titles that will be released over the next year with back-to-back gameplay and teaser trailers.

Now, another VR title trailer has been released, this time for Croteam’s Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope. The first person shooter title was announced as part of Goeff Keighley’s E3 livestream where it was revealed it would be published by Devolver Digital to be released on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift using the Oculus Touch controllers. Serious Sam is already a well-established and much-loved videogame universe but this is the franchise’s first foray into VR and it will see players take up the role of Serious Sam as he battles against his enemy Mental and his legions of warriors to save the galaxy.

Though short, the videogame’s teaser trailer is action packed, showing off diverse and colourful environments, terrifying monsters, plenty of violence, and a wide range of weaponry from handguns to rocket launchers. With so many weapons to take advantage of, it’s certainly a good thing that the game has been developed to work with the hotly anticipated Oculus Touch controllers to ensure the most natural movement possible.

The trailer reveals that Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope will be coming to Steam Early Access as soon as this summer. We’ll be sure to bring you more Serious Sam news as we get it so check back with VRFocus regularly for the latest E3 2016 news.
