One of the biggest announcements in terms of software at last year’s Oculus Connect developer conference was that acclaimed multiplayer brawler, Gang Beasts, would be coming to the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). No footage of the title was shown, but it was confirmed that Esper developer Coatsink would be helping original creator Boneloaf to bring it to VR. Coatsink has since confirmed that Gang Beasts VR‘s playable public debut will take place at EGX Rezzed in London, UK in April. But, before that can happen, the developer will be taking the project to another event.

Gang Beasts VR will be present at the 2016 Game Developers Conference (GDC) and Virtual Reality Developers Conference (VRDC) in San Francisco, California from 14th – 18th March. The project will be shown behind closed doors, so Rezzed will still be where many see it for the first time. There’s still a lot to learn about the project, including how its frantic street fights and brawls will translate over to the Oculus Rift, and if there will be any significant changes from the original version. It’s not even clear if this will be a separate release at this point in time.

Coatsink itself featured on the first ever episode of VRTV, which debuted earlier this week. The studio’s Daley Johnson came on to talk about the developer’s most recent title, Esper 2, which is now available on Gear VR and coming soon to the Oculus Rift.
