The final race of the CBC 21 season! John takes the heat, but Paul de Valera is the overall winner of the season. I officially had 12th place, which I am positive was incorrect lap counting based on who passed me during the race (should be 6th). John, Paul, Garret, Charlie and Dingo I know were in front of me.
My Electra Moto 1 29’r cruiser with 26″ rear (AKA 69’r) worked out awesome and will definitely be my weapon of choice moving forward.
Spent way too much time on this, but that’s the nature of editing 360 footage, which is why I’m not using the Insta360 camera as much as I used to. The process involved in producing the video:
- Gather the footage shot on LG-G7, Insta360 One, DJI Osmo Pocket, iphone
- Convert the Insta360 videos from it’s proprietary format into a flattened rectilinear format that can be edited using Insta360 Studio (This takes a VERY long time on my 2011 Mac Mini, like 10x longer than realtime. When I get the new Mac Mini this will go much faster and encourage shooting more 360)
- Import 360 footage into Garmin VIRB Edit
- Assemble the 360 footage sequence
- Trim it down a bit (this alone could be done 3 more times to shorten the edit)
- Choose pan/zoom for each 360 shot
- Export the 360 edit from VIRB Edit
- Import the 360 edit into iMovie
- Import the other footage and stills
- Sequence the footage
- Trim the fat
- Find some music (used freemusicarchive.org)
- Adjust the audio mix balance throughout
- Add titles
- Export
- Upload to YouTube
