Battle Dome, a multiplayer first persion shooter (FPS), is one of the latest titles to be released for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) currently on Early Access.
This FPS is a 4 v 4 title that can be enjoyed in single player, multi-player, and co-op modes, all using the motion controllers on the Vive to choose weapons and wipe out other players as they advance the level.
The developers have taken extra precaution with the fact that this is an Early Access title, giving a transparent warning to those who are looking into buying this title: “IMPORTANT! Battle Dome is early access. It needs a decent amount of polish and tweaking, so strongly consider this before purchasing. If you want a more polished and bug free experience, I encourage you to check back after a few weeks after I am able to smooth out the game. Thank you!”
Despite this warning, the developers could be selling themselves a little short as there seems to be a large range of weapons to play with, including a pistol, SMG, Assault Rifle, Laser Carbine, Energy Cannon, and Color Blaster to spread your team’s colour to which your team mates can transport to, along with a shield for defence against the other opponents.
The full version is said to include more gun choices, more levels, King of the Hill mode, and a free for all death match to heighten the competition amongst opponents. Currently there are only two modes that players can enjoy, including Destroy the Core where players will act as a team, and Co-Op mode where players can group together or play in single player mode.
Currently the videogame is exclusive to VR, and is priced at £10.99 GBP, with the prospect of the price going up as the full version emerges.
