Last year Cloudhead Games revealed that its upcoming virtual reality (VR) story-driven adventure title, The Gallery, would be going episodic. The first episode was then titled The Gallery: Call of the Starseed, and another three would follow after it. At the time it wasn’t confirmed when the other episodes would be launching but Cloudhead Games has provided a target window for each release to VRFocus today at Valve’s Steam VR Developer Showcase in Seattle, Washington.

The developer confirmed that it is aiming to launch each episode of The Gallery around six months apart. The first episode is intended to release in April 2016 along with the HTC Vive itself, which should mean that the second episode arrives around October 2016 with episodes three and four then following on around April 2017 and October 2017 respectively, though those months aren’t set in stone just yet. Names for the later episodes are also yet to be announced.

The Gallery is also on its way to the Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR, and Cloudhead Games has also confirmed to VRFocus that the former version will arrive when the Oculus Touch position-tracked controllers launch in H2 2016. A timeframe for the PlayStation VR version is still yet to be revealed. The first-person experience sees players search for their missing sister and makes full use of position tracked VR such as Room Scale user tracking. Cloudhead Games has even pioneered its own locomotion system, Blink, to solve movement in large-scale areas.
