Held every year in Las Vegas, Nevada, CES is one of the largest technology events in the world, showcasing the very latest products from companies around the world. The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) – owner and producer of CES – has now announced the call for entries for its CES 2017 Innovation Awards.

The annual competition honours outstanding design and engineering across 28 consumer technology categories, These are:

Applications will be accepted from now until 16th September 2016, and there are several different fee levels depending on membership of the CTA and whether companies are exhibiting. For CTA members who are exhibiting at CES the fee is $475 USD, while non-exhibitors need to pay $950. For non-members the prices are higher at $800 and $1,300 respectively. If you’re one first 200 applicants, $200 will be deducted off those prices.

Each product category is composed of a three-member judging team, featuring an independent industrial designer, an independent engineer and a member of the trade press. Entries are judged on engineering qualities, aesthetic and design qualities, use/function and user value, unique/novel features and how the design and innovation directly compare to other products in the market.

Honourees will be announced at CES Unveiled New York on 10th November, the winning products will then go display at CES 2017 in January in the Innovation Awards Showcase.
