During the Reeperbahn Festival in Germany, a festival that highlights the global music industry, binge.watch is holding its own event that is part of the festival to celebrate works of virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR).

There will be a set of awards to celebrate outstanding creative applications of VR, MR, and “spherical video” – which is 360 degree to most people. There are six categories that entries are classified into, which are best immersive experience, best music experience, best video experience, best documentary experience, best gaming experience and the binge.watch game-changer award.

“binge.watch is the first real VR festival in Europe, bringing together awards, creative sessions, talks and workshops with VR thought leaders from around the world. All this to the backdrop of the Reeperbahn Festival with more than 700 concerts and events. The VR Lounge is the heart of binge.watch –  outstanding immersive experiences, interesting workshops and inspiring networking – it’s all going to happen right here in Hamburg, St. Pauli”, said Per Sascha Zech, organiser of the event.

Those who wish to enter the awards for any of the six categories listed above, submissions are now open. The ending date for submissions in 12th September, 22:00 UTC. To submit to one category, there will be a fee of €200 (EUR), up to three is €350, and each additional category will be €150.

The event will take place on 22nd September in Hamburg, Germany, and is expected to be visited by over 32,000 people and to host over 700 events for art, film, literature, and its main concentration, music.
