Virtual reality (VR) is a technology trend that continues to grow and expand at a seemingly unstoppable rate, with more and more companies expanding into the market. The latest is French startup 3D Slash which has now incorporated a VR View into its 3D modelling software of the same name.
3D Slash 2.0 had its official release earlier this week, designed to be an accessible 3D modelling application enabling anyone to create 3D content. With the new VR mode, users can now design in 3D and view their creation in immersive VR on their smartphone, using head-mounted displays (HMDs) like Google Cardboard, Merge VR or other similar devices.
Sylvain Huet, founder of 3D Slash said in a statement: “This is the first step for 3D Slash into VR”. Adding: “more innovative VR experiences to come”.
The software saw its first beta release back in 2014 and the team creating an interface offering an intuitive experience. Using a custom set of tools, users create models by “slashing a cube”. The software is free to download from www.3dslash.net.
